My best friend say that most of van gosh paintings are owned by private collectors. I think this is not truth, but does anybody knows where do they keep most of his art work? Exactly what museum???

i know that some are in the metropolitan museum, ny . for example, his self-portrait is exhibited there
The most paintings are at the Van Gogh Museum. But the Met Museum in NYC (as stated above) does have several good ones. And the Art Institute of Chicago has a couple famous pieces too.
Guggenheim has a one or two too – saw Starry Night in Vegas – VG realy was crazy – like far out
